2019 Coachmen Prism
We installed this complete solar, battery and inverter system for a full-time gentleman who recently retired and has decided to travel the U.S. We installed a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/50 (50A) Charge Controller, 4x ZS170 170w Solar Panels w/ Rocker Mounts and Victron BMV-712 Battery Monitor w/ Temp Sensor. We installed a Roof Combiner Box and attached the ZS170 solar panels to the roof with adjustable rocker mounts fastened using well nut inserts and covered exposed interior wiring using split loom tubing (w/ exception to PV resistant roof wire) and sealed all roof penetrations using Dicor sealant. We replaced the single OE house battery with 2x LifeBlue 12v 200ah Low Temp Lithium Batteries installed in the driver side mid-ship storage bay and re-routed the house battery circuit to the new battery storage location. We fabricated cabinetry to secure the new house batteries to storage base and replaced the OE battery combiner/separator with a Cyrix-Li-ct lithium compatible combiner/separator. We installed a Victron Multiplus 3000VA Inverter w/ Digital Multi Control, dedicated fuse and high/low voltage service disconnects. To protect the entire system, we installed a hardwired Progressive Industries EMS-HW30C Electrical Management System w/ Monitor. To compliment the complete system we installed a Victron Color Control Monitor Kit and interfaced w/ Battery Monitor, Solar Charge Controller & Inverter for one single point multi-control. We installed a USB power port and installed a weBoost under the sink and routed interior antenna coax to an easy accessible point of use and permanently located the exterior antenna on the roof. We installed a dedicated fused 12V power port for the weBoost to allow for uninterrupted cell boosting during his travels.
