2015 Leisure Travel Free Spirit SS
In this project, we installed a Victron SmartSolar (w/ Bluetooth) 10/30 (30A) charge controller and BMV-712 Victron Smart Battery Monitor w/ remote control and temperature sensor along with a roof combiner box and 2x 100W solar panels with tall rocker mounts. A total of 4x strain reliefs were installed in the combiner box (2x strain reliefs plugged for future use as requested by customer). Covered exposed wiring (excluding roof PV wire) using split loom tubing and sealed all roof penetrations using Dicor self-leveling sealant. We routed the Victron BMV-712 Battery Monitor cable from the future rear house battery storage area to the factory inverter location. A custom battery storage box was constructed by the customer that we modified to accommodate 2x Battle Born BB10012 lithium batteries. We added 200A DC circuit protection on the house +12V input and chassis battery circuit. Removed the OE battery charger (within the factory converter) and replaced with a Progressive Dynamics Intelli-Power PD9160AL 12-Volt Lithium Ion Converter/Charger.
