This customer came to us looking for a solution that would support her boondocking lifestyle while living and travelling in her RV. We installed a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100|50 (50A) Charge Controller, 4x GS180 (180w) Solar Panels and Victron BMV-712 Battery Monitor. We covered all exposed wiring with split loom tubing and sealed all roof penetrations using Dicor leveling sealant. For powering a variety of devices up to 2000w continuous power output, we installed a Xantrex Freedom X 2000W inverter & remote. We installed a subpanel and added circuit protection for two circuits within the coach that have the ability to be powered from shore power or by the inverter. We replaced the existing single house battery w/ 2x Lifeline GPL-31XT 125ah 12V AGM batteries (1x in the OE battery tray and 1X located beneath the dinette) and re-routed the OE battery box (-) negative power distribution to under dinette. To provide boosted cell signal when boondocking in more rural areas, we installed a weBoost cell booster with external antenna and remote power switch along with dedicated circuit protection. With this complete solar power system, our customer will be able to now fully enjoy her new home on wheels when travelling off the grid for years to come.
